Course Description
This course is designed to give the student a thorough background in the theory of 
manicuring, artificial nails and pedicuring.

1.	Communication - Use listening and verbal skills with clients and co-workers.
2.	Critical Thinking and Problem Solving - Evaluate service situations on an 
individual client basis utilizing problem solving skills
3.	Technology - Use appropriate cosmetology implements in all service areas.
4. 	Personal Responsibility - Use learned skills in safety and sanitary procedures 
both in personal and public health

At the end of the course the student will understand:

1.	The qualifications of a manicurist.
2.	The implements, equipment and cosmetics used in manicuring.
3.	Background on the different forms of artificial nails.
4.	The nail structure.
5.	How to identify nail diseases and disorders.
6.	The theory of pedicuring.
7.	The implements, equipment and cosmetics used in pedicuring.
8.	Electricity as it applied to the practice of manicuring.
9.	The storage and use of chemicals related to manicuring.
10.	Safety, sanitary and first aid procedures as related to manicuring.
